Wednesday 11th October – Windsurf *** River Orwell at Levington Marina – mainly cloudy.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt 5.5.

Was not sure what to do today as it was supposed to be pretty breezy from the wsw with rain later, high tide was around 10.30 which meant Felixstowe would be better in the afternoon, we then got a message asking if we could have the Granddaughter, the lovely Maeva so I decided to head over to Levington. Robert and Micheal messaged to say we could park as they are working on the sea wall in the marina and are loading a barge so after breakfast tI headed over as Micheal was rigging 5.2! I arrived at the marina at 9.30, Robert and Michael had already been on the water for awhile and were right down by Felixstowe docks! I quickly set up the foil board and there looked like loads of wind on the water I took a chance with my 5.5. Launching around ten I thought I had rigged too small but I found the wind towards Felixstowe docks, I had loads of fun going for some fast gybes, loved being on flat water again. I slowly made my way down to the docks only gybing in the gusts and love my 5.5. The best bit was gybing close the last huge container ship in the port, I then had to avoud a coaster heading to Ipswich, it ws at this point the wind went really patchy and I sadly hardly got flying on the sail back to the marina. I tries a few runs in front of the marina but the wind was really bad now so decided to call it a day, pack-up shower and head for home and enjoyed the most wondeful afternoon with Maeva, she is a star:)
PS – I was lucky enough to get of of my pics of Levington marina on ITV’s About Anglia, really made my day:)
